Accessibility at the THM
The Toronto Holocaust Museum is committed to providing inclusive museum experience and accessibility for all visitors. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to visit our space.
General accessibility
The entry to the building and Museum exhibit is equipped with wheelchair access via elevator. Our exhibits and interactives adhere to ADA Standards for Accessible Design and have user interface within reach of children and individuals in wheelchairs. The exhibit and interactives also include readable font sizes, high contrast type and color, and all interactives includes our specially designed application manager with built in up/down functionality.
All specially curated films and interactives include open captions. The physical exhibition and testimony stations are bilingual. Videos are available with French or English subtitles, depending on the language in which they were filmed.
For those unable to visit the Museum, we continue to develop and offer online educational resources for further learning.
Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any service requests. For questions and more information on accessibility reach out to info@thethm.org.
What to expect during your visit
Sensory backpacks are free resources and are available at the front desk by request. Please note that we maintain a stock of 10 sensory backpacks. Once you have concluded your museum exploration, kindly return the backpack to the front desk before departing.
