Ontario Grade 6 Teacher Day

In partnership with the Azrieli Foundation and Facing History & Ourselves, the Toronto Holocaust Museum is welcoming teachers for the first ever province-wide full day of professional development on best practices in Holocaust education and an introduction to practical, age-appropriate resources for the classroom. Open to every Grade 6 teacher in Ontario, the day includes workshops, modelling of classroom activities, light breakfast and lunch and time to explore the Toronto Holocaust Museum.

 

Please note, this event is offered in English only, however French education material is available.

 

In the event that the program exceeds its maximum capacity, please note that priority for registration will be given to active teachers and teachers representing a variety of schools and school boards. 

 

This is a joint event and the collection and use of personal information of registrants will be subject to the privacy policy of each of UJA, the Azrieli Foundation, and Facing History and Ourselves.

If you are arriving by TTC, please enter the Sheff Family Building through the doors facing Bathurst Street. 

 

Directions by TTC: 

 

  • From Bathurst Station: #7 Bathurst North bus. 
  • From Wilson Station: # 160 Bathurst North bus. 
  • From Sheppard Station: #84 Sheppard West, then transfer to a Bathurst North bus. 
  • From Downsview Station: #84 Sheppard West, then transfer to a Bathurst North bus. 

 

Buses will drop you off on Bathurst Street, just south of the Bathurst Street entrance to the building. Proceed onto the campus by foot on the west side of the street. You will enter on the first floor of the Sheff Family Building. 

 

If you are arriving by car, make a left once you have entered the campus, proceed to the South Parking Lot, and follow the road to the security booth. Check in by informing them you are attending the Ontario Grade 6 Teacher Day with the Toronto Holocaust Museum. Free visitor parking will be available. You will enter on the lower level of the Sheff Family Building.
