Join Dr. Christine Schmidt (The Wiener Holocaust Library, London) for a unique look at the role of women collectors during and after the Holocaust. She will focus on two individuals, Eva Reichmann and Nelly Wolffheim. Each fled Nazi Germany in 1939 and went on to lead early efforts to collect documentary evidence and helped interview more than 1,300 eyewitnesses, creating an exceptional collection.
The program will also honour Toronto-based Holocaust survivor Judy Weissenberg Cohen for her extraordinary efforts and commitment to collecting and amplifying local women’s stories in her initiative, https://www.theverylongview.com/WATH/
